Beliefs

Here at Walnut Valley Baptist Church, we believe in Jesus, as we are first and foremost Christ followers. We believe in the timeless truths of the Bible, which serve as the foundation for our faith and practice. As a Southern Baptist church, we hold to the core beliefs of the Baptist Faith and Message.

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God, and that it is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe that there is one God, who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that it is a free gift of God, which cannot be earned or deserved.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers, and that He is present in the world to convict people of sin and draw them to Christ. We believe that baptism by immersion is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and a symbol of new life in Him. We believe that the church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, and that it exists to worship God, preach the gospel, and make disciples of all nations. And we believe that Jesus Christ will return to earth one day to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His kingdom.

As followers of Jesus, we are committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with our community and the world. We believe that the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is the only hope for a lost and hurting world, and we are passionate about sharing that message with others.
